Is this Soundbar Actually a Home Theatre?

Unboxing :

We decided to order it because people were demanding speakers a lot. So let’s open the box. So that a person like us doesn’t drop the box. It’s so thick that we don’t know where to open it. Or the packing is dangerous. The speaker looks good. One box. Two boxes. A lot of stuff is inside. There’s an optical in wire. And there are bolts and screws for the wall mount. And there’s an attachment, and the remote came out. They don’t give batteries now either. There’s a power cord. An HDMI cable. And the satellite speakers. The satellite speakers should be wireless, but then speaker becomes expensive. The length should be good. It’s very long.

It got tangled. Please untangle it. Meanwhile, we’ll look at other things. A satellite box. Tata Sky. They have given a type of small set-top box thing. We think it’s for the speakers. And we’ll get another satellite speaker. And finally, the soundbar. Give us an extension cord. Let’s look at its first impression. It looks good as a speaker. Build & Design :

But the first attractive thing is the design. When you look at the design of the soundbar, it looks very good. There’s a glass on top & bottom. It’s obvious that there’s a glass, so fingerprints are visible. But if you keep it clean, it gives a good feel.

And we get buttons on the top. And the 2 cuttings on the glass are the top firing speakers. And we get a metal mesh on the front that is the front grill, and inside that, there are speakers. And we get a digital display on the front, where you can select the input. Or if you’re watching a Dolby movie, then it displays Dolby Atmos. And there’s nothing on the left & right. And on the back, we get ports for the subwoofer connection. And then let’s talk about the subwoofer. The subwoofer is the same as it should be. It comes in a normal wooden build.

There’s an air throw area on the back. And there’s a bass radiator on the bottom, which gives a great bass.

Connectivity :

Then comes the connectivity. It comes with Bluetooth version 5.4. So when you connect it with the latest Bluetooth devices, you don’t feel any latency. We didn’t face any problems while watching movies. Like we connected it with a phone. Or if you want to connect it with a TV, although it doesn’t make any sense. Because you get the peak output from the HDMI ARC only.

If you’re connecting it to a TV. There’s a USB port as well. If you want to play songs via USB that is very rare nowadays. And there’s an optical input if you want to connect it with an old TV system. And there’s an AUX input if you want to connect it with a wired laptop or phone. And there are 2 satellite speakers along with a box with a glossy finish. And there are ports on the back to connect the satellite speakers. And there’s a pairing button. It connects automatically, but if it doesn’t, you can pair it through that.

And this box can be wirelessly connected to the bar. You can also wall-mount the satellite speakers. There is space for that as well. And the best part is that the wire of the satellite speakers is very long. So you can keep the box anywhere. So, you don’t have to worry about the satellite speakers.

Sound Output :

And the sound output is a total of 600W. There are 4 speakers in front of the sound bar, each of which is 50W. And the speakers at the top are of 80-80W each. The subwoofer is 200W. And the satellite speakers are 20-20W.

A total of 600W. At this price point, 600W output is a very good thing. And because of all these, it can create 5.1.2 surround sound. And it has Dolby Atmos support. By the way, this is the first soundbar of Portronics that supports Dolby Atmos. And Dolby Atmos is basically object-based. That means if you are watching content on Dolby Atmos. Otherwise, if you use a 2.1 sound bar, you get a normal speaker experience. For a theatrical experience, you need more plus Dolby Atmos support. By the way, you also get a DSP chip in the sound bar. Basically, it is a digital signal processor chip. Because of this chip, you get a proper output. It enhances the sound.

Sound Experience :

And the major part is the experience. If we start with the music, we have listened to multiple songs.
And we have experienced it on TV. Because we had to experience it through HDMI ARC. And the music experience was fabulous. By the way, most of the songs on today’s date come with stereo separation. So you don’t get to know about the satellite speakers. Yes, we get a fulfilled sound in our room. Because satellite speakers are being used. But you get to know about the channels mostly in movies. Yes, if you listen to 8D surround music, or if you listen to Dolby Atmos videos, Then You will get to know about the separation properly.

And if you listen to the music at 100% volume, you don’t feel any distortion. The sound separation is good; there is no interference in the vocals and music. Yes, whenever you listen to the music at 100% volume, the bass overpowers. And it feels very loud. If you want a sweet spot where you can feel the bass & loudness, then 70-80% is the best. By the way, if we talk about the bass, it feels very good. It has 5 levels. You can reduce it if you don’t want to make the whole surroundings wavy. But it doesn’t disappoint in terms of bass.

It creates an experience just like a theater. And the experience that we are telling you, this is a 14×12 room. We were experiencing it in this room. The sound is very loud. So, if you use it in a big environment or in a big living area, you will get a good output. The sound separation that we feel in that movie is amazing, and its satellite speakers are very useful there.

Because we placed the speakers on the left and right behind us. And we were sitting in the center and experiencing it. We were getting a theater vibe. The sound of water, the sound of a bike. And the most important thing in the sound system, while watching a movie, the dialogues are very important. Even loud music is playing. Because in RRR, the music is also very loud. So, it is not that the dialogues are not clear. But no, here the dialogues are clear. The separation is maintained very well.

And Dolby Atmos gives an amazing experience. And majorly, the bass. The sound is so loud, we were listening to it at 70-80%. And we found it to be a sweet spot. The bass was very good and thumpy. As much as you need for a theatrical experience. It is not like the bass is so overpowered that you are not enjoying the sound. That there is only boom boom in the room. No, here the bass is as much as you need for a theatrical experience. Other than that, we were watching Spider-Man on Netflix.

It was fun. The experience in the climax scene was amazing, when 3 Spiderman were fighting. It gave a full-on theatrical vibe. So, we can say about the movies, nothing is disappointing. According to the price, the output, bass, vocals, and the surround sound that is being created We get a fulfilling experience. And if you want to enjoy Dolby Atmos fully, then watch any horror movie. We were watching Conjuring on Netflix. The lefts and rights that we felt in it were amazing. If you want to experience the real horror, then experience Dolby Atmos in a soundbar like this.

It will be fun. If you want to do some tuning, you can do it through the remote. In which you get different equalizer modes. Like movies, news, and music. You can change it according to the type of content you are watching. You can also tune the treble, bass, and surround sound. We get different levels from -5 to +5. Like, if you don’t want to listen to bass, if you are watching sports or news, then you can turn off the bass sound.
Rest, Same is for surround sound. If you want to increase the surround by +5, otherwise, you can reduce it. You can tweak it according to your room.

Gaming Experience :

And we also experienced gaming. That was also good because we connected to the PS5. And in PS5, you get Dolby Atmos support in the settings. We were playing Spiderman. And then we played FIFA. And we got a good experience in that,t too. With Dolby Atmos, the whole room gets covered with sound. And it feels amazing. In FIFA, it felt like we were playing while sitting in a stadium.
